Select Lincolnshire Forum Notes November 2017

Select Lincolnshire Forum Notes November 2017

Novembers Forum Meeting saw a wide selection of businesses and members sharing our regular networking opportunity.

Andy Herrigan and Euan McLaughlin from Sills and Betteridge spoke about Business Law, Risks for the Food Sector and more.  You can see their full presentation by downloading the powerpoint presentation.

They have also provided useful tips and links about codes of practise, insurance, food standards agency and lots more.  Download the detail and links on the word document. Download it here.  It makes interestng reading.

Chamber member - Rachel Linsted from Firecracker updated us on the services she can support and provide.  From funding and voucher opportunities to help grow business in Lincolnshire.  Rachel has a great deal of experience across many sectors and in particular the food and drink industry.  Call Rachel if you need any guidance or signposting.

Good Taste Lincolnshire - An update regarding the new publication in January was well recieved and all thought it was a good idea to have an annual coffee tabel browser to fulfil the consumer appetite for more information about Lincolnshire food and drink produce.

Events - General call for event information to publicise members on the web site and in print.

Select Awards - Feedback was that the event was great but the application process was qute time consuming.  The launch for 2018 will be earlier in the year to give members plenty of time to prepare their submissions.  The Select Awards are a good preparation ground for those who  wish to take part in the Visit England Awards.  More details can be found here.  Further updates about the opening for the 2019 Visit England will be posted as they happen.

Select Awards 2018 ceremony will be 9th October at Lincoln Minster School.  The venue was such as success members asked if we can go back there.  Watch this space for updates

Chamber Forums -  Select memebrs were asked to show their interest in supporting the food and drink forum at Chamber Board Level.  Some people have already shown an interest and further applicants can register their interest by emailing select @lincs-chamber.co.uk.  The decision on Forums will be concluded in Spring 2018.

Facebook member group - Members had requested a group to keep in touch with each other.  If you would like to join here is the link  https://www.facebook.com/groups/106901653340960/
