Chestnut Homes 100-mile cycle challenge

Chestnut Homes is joining forces with one of Lincolnshire’s biggest charity bike rides to help ensure this year’s event can go ahead.

The Langworth-based housebuilder is among the companies sponsoring the 100-mile C2C2C charity bike ride, which takes place on Thursday 28th June.

So-called because it originally ran from Lincoln Castle to the coast and back, the C2C2C will this year feature a circular route specially designed to include several bomber command centres to mark the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force.

Starting from Lincoln Rugby Club in Nettleham, riders will head out into the Lincolnshire Wolds, passing through Scothern, Bardney, Woodhall Spa, Horncastle and Market Rasen.

Last year 622 riders took part in the event, which is now in its eighth year.

As well as sponsoring this year’s event, a team from Chestnut Homes will be taking part in the ride, which is raising money for three charities: St Barnabas Hospice, International Bomber Command Centre and Cycling Without Age (Skegness).

David Newton, Managing Director of Chestnut Homes, said: “The C2C2C helps raise vital funds for charities, and is an enjoyable way for us to keep fit, so we’re always keen to support it in any way we can.

“This year we thought we could go one step further in our support and we’re very proud to be one of the companies sponsoring this year’s event.

“We’re looking forward to another fantastic day of cycling, and we’ve got our fingers crossed for good weather.”
