Read MoreThree Lincolnshire businesses have joined forces to create a 2020 calendar to help community interest company Sage Gardener raise £4,000 for a new cabin for members of the community to use during the winter months.
Make An Entrance, Lincoln Print and Copy Centre and David Harrison Photography have all supported Sage Gardener with the design and production of its calendar so that all money raised through sales will go straight towards a new wooden cabin.
The cabin will be used to facilitate a range of activities so that members of the community can enjoy the facilities all year round, which would otherwise be restricted by the weather during the winter.
Sage Gardener runs a community garden set in ancient woodland near Swinderby in Lincolnshire, which is used by members of the local community including those living with dementia and their carers, as well as those who are lonely or affected by mental health issues.
The vegetable, flower, sensory and wildlife gardens act as a social hub to engage members of the community in gardening, floral and rural crafts to reduce stress and improve their health and wellbeing.
Jane Newman, Director at Sage Gardener, said: “We’re extremely grateful that three generous Lincolnshire businesses have chosen to support us with our first fundraising activity – a 2020 calendar which showcases stunning wildlife images taken on site at the gardens and features the work of volunteers and visitors.
“It also features a series of helpful tips on gardening and wellbeing and is available to buy for £10 which includes postage and packing.
“The new wooden cabin will be used to offer activities for our regular visitors and bigger groups so that they can continue to enjoy activities during periods of bad weather.
“We plough every penny we receive back into improving facilities and extending the services we are able to offer. We’re extremely grateful for any and all help, no matter how small – every bit makes a huge difference to us.”
Sam Burlton, Director at Make An Entrance, said: “We love being able to help out in any small way we can to support the amazing work being done by Sage Gardener.
“Sponsorship and facilitating online orders for the calendars is an easy task for us but makes an enormous difference to the organisation. The calendars would make a lovely gift for a friend or loved one – and I hope that lots of people will support the cause by purchasing a calendar this Christmas.”
