Lincolnshire Live Business Awards Launches

Lincolnshire Live Business Awards Launches

We are launching the 17th annual Lincolnshire Live Business Awards in conjunction with Lincolnshire Live.

The awards are set to support, recognise and celebrate the brilliance shown by companies and individuals who have kept the economy going during this pandemic.

Now more than ever we need to recognise our business champions.

A total of 15 awards will be handed out on the evening, including our brand new category, Business in the Face of Adversity Special Award which reflects those businesses who have gone the extra mile during the agonising months of lockdown.

The Business in the Face of Adversity Special Award is one of 15 on offer to companies in our region in this year’s awards. The other categories cover areas ranging from apprentices and employees, to the businesses themselves including smaller operations and larger companies that trade around the world.

All the winners are then put forward for the prestigious Business of the Year Overall Winner award, which is given to the business that our team of dedicated judges are most involved in.

The awards are brought to you by a number of high profile sponsors including Streets Chartered Accountants and Siemens.

Simon Beardsley, Chief Executive, Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce said the awards would be a good way to show businesses in the county how appreciated they are.

“Representing our members and businesses across the county, we are delighted to once again be supporting the Lincolnshire Business Awards for 2020,” he said.

“There is no denying that we are all going through a period of dramatic change, however, it is important now more than ever before that we celebrate, encourage and support Lincolnshire businesses and the awards play a vital part in doing that.”

"It is important now more than ever before that we celebrate, encourage and support Lincolnshire businesses."

James Pinchbeck, marketing partner at Streets Chartered Accountants, said they were proud to be sponsoring the awards again.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Lincolnshire Live Business Awards for our seventh year and not least the International Business category. Certainly, amongst our own client base and the wider business community we have and continue to see an increased interest and appetite for business to engage in overseas trade and investment.

“The ability to export and operate overseas is also no longer an activity for the more established larger businesses; no today’s exporters include a growing number of small and startup enterprises.

“This award not only celebrates our county’s businesses operating across the globe, but also helps to promote what can be achieved by those looking to export or to develop their overseas markets.

“Sponsoring the Award seems highly appropriate for our firm as we too develop our services and access to business advice internationally.

“Having our own association means that we are able to provide in country advice to individuals, businesses and organisations.

“The association, which continues to expand its geographical cover, is able to provide advice across Asia, America, Europe and the Far East.”

“The business awards highlight, reward and recognise not only the achievements and innovations of organisations, but the people who work tirelessly for their customers at a local, regional, national and international level, as well as providing fantastic local exposure, all of which couldn’t be more appropriate at such times.

“We know challenges will continue for businesses of all sizes, but the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce are still receiving stories of innovation, success and diversification and we should use these stories to help inspire and enthuse others for the future, as we have most certainly learnt over this period of uncertainty, we are indeed #StrongerTogether,”

Neil Corner, managing director at Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery, said the company knew from experience the importance of being environmentally aware.

“We are proud to sponsor the Environment & Sustainability Award,” he said.

“Sustainability is a serious topic globally, nationally and locally for our small industrial gas turbine business here in Lincoln.

“Earlier this year, we, along with other gas and power businesses in Siemens, separated from Siemens to form a new independent organisation called Siemens Energy.

“This is an exciting time for us, as we work together on the de-carbonisation challenge and how we can reach net zero into the UK as well as helping our industrial customers across the world navigate this energy transition.

“Everyone has a responsibility to review how we do everything here, and how we can be more sustainable at work and in our community.

“We’ve launched a ‘Do More Good’ ideas, initiatives and innovations campaign which focuses on this very important topic of sustainability, with an invitation to get our families involved at home!

“With a collective focus on continuing to integrate sustainability into all areas of our business, we can help to protect and improve society for the future, as well as make our business stronger.”

"We've launched a 'Do More Good' ideas, initiatives and innovations campaign which focuses on the very important topic of sustainability."

The awards open for nominations on May 21 and the closing date for entries is Sunday August 30, with the shortlist being released on Thursday, September 10.

The shortlisted businesses will then undergo interviews by the judging panel on Thursday, September 17, before being invited to the black tie awards ceremony.

This event, once again hosted by magician Ben Hanlin, is set to take place at the EPIC Centre in Lincolnshire Showground on Thursday, October 15.
