Bikers Invited to ‘Ride the Route’ for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance

Following the cancellation of their annual Ride to Save Lives (RTSL) event, the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) is calling on motorcyclists to get out their bikes to keep the lifesaving Ambucopter flying.

The charity is asking bikers to ride the 62-mile RTSL route within their own social bubbles between 5th September and 4th October, with a donation in lieu of their RTSL entry fee. Riders are also encouraged to share their photographs for inclusion across the charity’s social media pages.

As part of the annual RTSL event, hundreds of bikers are invited to make their way through some of the most glorious countryside and villages across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire each year. The decision was made to cancel this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kelly Geoghegan, Fundraising Events Coordinator, said: “Our annual RTSL event has always been a hit with our local biking community, with hundreds of riders taking to the streets to support our wonderful charity. We are truly devastated to see the event cancelled this year, and we know that many of our supporters will have been disappointed by this.

“We’ve launched this year’s Ride the Route so that our amazing supporters can still get on their motorbikes to support LNAA, whilst helping us raise vital funds. We were hoping to raise around £12,000 at this year’s RTSL, so we’re hoping that with the support of our amazing biking community, we can help make up this shortfall.

“We are hoping that many of our biker friends will be taking to the streets of Lincs and Notts to help keep our Ambucopter flying, and we are looking forward to welcoming back to our next RTSL event in 2021.”
