Boston’s first event of 2020 was a huge success

Boston’s Central Park held its first event for 2020 last Saturday 12th September 2020, with an outdoor cinema screening of Mamma Mia which was requested by cinema goers at a previous event.

The ticket numbers were reduced to a maximum of 200 people due to Covid regulations and was close to a sell-out.

Social distanced hearts were sprayed on the ground by Transported for people to be able to enjoy the screening in their bubbles.

Boston Borough Council gives thanks to Chattertons Solicitors and Wealth Management who have once again supported their outdoor cinema event, having been involved in the cinema screenings from the start and it is great to have a local business supporting events in the town.

The Council would also like to thank everyone who was using the Multi-Use Games Area and the new Skate Park for leaving quickly and easily prior to the event starting, so massive thank you to you all.

Kristina Willoughby, Town Centre Services Manager said: “It was great to see families out enjoying themselves safely. The event was a great success and we will hopefully be able to return with more of our outdoor cinemas next year.”

Cllr Yvonne Stevens, portfolio holder for events, said: “Thank you to the families and friends who turned out for this cinema screening. The events are proving more and more popular in the town, it is great to see people out enjoying themselves after such an unsettled year so far. The love hearts sprayed on the grass was such a lovely and safe addition to this event.”
