Chat + Collect returns to Doddington during lockdown

Doddington Hall & Gardens is bringing back its popular Farm Shop Chat + Collect service to serve the local community during the latest national coronavirus lockdown.

The service, which opens to the public on Monday 9 November, lets customers order their shopping essentials over the phone and then collect their orders without having to leave their car.

Fresh fruit and veg, locally sourced meat, frozen meals, bread, flour, tinned goods, drinks and more Farm Shop favourites can be ordered and paid for over the phone by calling 01522 688581. The phone line is open 9.30am-3.30pm daily with collection slots available Monday-Friday.

Chat + Collect slots are available for booking now, with priority given to vulnerable customers. Customers can visit the Doddington Hall website for more details.

Claire Birch, owner of Doddington Hall & Gardens, said: “We know how much Chat + Collect served as a vital link for our customers during the first lockdown, especially the most vulnerable in our community. So in these uncertain times, the team is ready to serve once again, to take your orders, to chat to you about our range and help you to get all the essentials you need.”

The Farm Shop will remain open to the public 9am-5pm daily (Sundays 10am-4pm) during lockdown as essential retail, providing a safe and socially-distanced service and promoting Hands. Face. Space at all times.

Likewise, the Bike Shop (Giant Store Lincoln) will remain open 9am-5pm daily (Sundays 10am-4pm) for bike sales and servicing, while the Hub next to Lincoln railway station will remain open 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday.

Doddington Coffee Shop (next to the Bike Shop) will open 9am-4pm daily for takeaway food and drinks – ideal for visitors taking daily exercise in the Doddington parkland.

A new all-day menu offers bacon baps, burgers, jacket potatoes, toasted waffles, sweet treats and more, and a new direct number – 01522 243189 – for customers to call to place orders for collection.

A new Chat + Collect service will also be in place for Doddington at Home, Farrow & Ball and Country Clothing to keep customers well stocked during lockdown and beyond. Cosy home furnishings and accessories, books for all ages, candles, bath and body products, ladieswear and menswear clothing, accessories, footwear and much more is available. It’s also the perfect opportunity to safely order gifts and tick off Christmas lists over the phone by calling 01522 812512. The phone line is open 9.30am-3.30pm daily with contactless collection slots available on request.

Looking ahead to Christmas at Doddington, refunds have been issued for Hall bookings already made for dates before 2 December and subject to Government guidance, bookings will remain open from 2 December onwards. The Hall will once again be transformed for the festive period and decorated throughout for the theme ‘Secret Gardens’. Inspired by the Doddington walled and wild gardens, the outdoors will be brought inside to create spectacular scenes for a magical family day out (booking essential).

Freshly-cut Doddington Christmas trees will be available via a new Click + Collect service from 10 November with collections starting from 25 November. The Christmas Tree Yard will open from 27 November to fulfil the popular family tradition of choosing the perfect Doddington tree.

Visitors are asked to keep checking the website and following social media for further updates relating to Chat + Collect and Christmas at Doddington.
