Jerry Green Dog Rescue needs support to keep stock on the shelves and tails wagging

This year has been, undoubtedly, the hardest year Jerry Green Dog Rescue has faced as a charity, in their nearly 60-year history. The projected financial loss due to the implications of the pandemic, is simply devastating.

In 2019 the charity opened the doors to its first charity retail store in Ashby, closely followed by the Brigg store. The charity retail stores provide sustainable income for the Charity by providing funds to continue their vital work.

Claire Ryan, who works for the charity recently said “when you buy an item from our stores, you help to provide everything from veterinary care to funding washing machines to ensure the dogs beds are snuggly on the winter evenings”.

Jerry Green Dog Rescue are working tirelessly in the current climate to make every penny they can. Despite a light at the end of the tunnel for a vaccine, the impact of the pandemic on our beloved four legged friends will continue well into the new year.

The charity is currently trying to work with pet owners who may find that a return to the office could be a difficult experience for many pets. Pets who have got used to their owners being home, you can find lots of information on their website about how to introduce alone time safely.

The charity stores were closed for many months which has meant that donations have been limited. The stores were delighted to see their customers come back and support the dogs as soon as they were able, but stock levels are depleted.

Jerry Green Dog Rescue are asking that you start your spring clean early and donate items that you no longer have place for in your home. Items from breadbins, to boots to bracelets, if you have it, they would be grateful for it.

So please if you have any items or what you think would make a nice gift at Christmas bring them into your nearest shop location to make our dogs Christmas that little bit nicer!

If you haven’t visited their website recently, it is worth a visit with an online shop bursting with gift ideas, ways to get involved and also as mentioned a very informative educational section.
