Myos House, which is due for completion this summer, has been specially designed to allow those living with a dementia diagnosis to stay with their families for as long as possible, avoiding the unsettling move to residential care.
Costing in the region of £4.4million, the build complies with the Housing our Ageing Population Panel for Innovation (HAPPI) principles and includes 25 two-bedroom apartments and communal spaces for residents to socialise.
Helen Wright, Support Services Manager at Ongo said: “It is an absolute pleasure to be involved in this project and we are so excited to be at the stage of taking applications.
“Along with the design, there’ll be beautiful secure gardens, CCTV and staff on hand 24 hours a day to alleviate worry for families. It truly is a fantastic and much needed project and we expect interest to be very high, so please get in touch if you’re interested.”
Ongo, Homes England and North Lincolnshire Council have come together to fund the project, with G.S Kelsey appointed as the lead contractors.
