The Greater Lincolnshire Manufacturing Network enters its second year of networking events to bring together our manufacturing community with Manufacturing a Skilled Workforce: Employee retention, smart recruitment and building your talent pool.
As the largest industry employer in our region, the manufacturing sector will continue to be a local driver of skills demand. The Local Skills Report (2021) highlights that two-thirds of vacancies are “hard to fill” due to skills shortages, and with increased introduction of robotics and automation, sustainability demands and a loss of international recruits, the sector faces ongoing challenges to meet future skill requirements to achieve long-term productivity and growth.
Manufacturing a Skilled Workforce will introduce education and training experts, as well as industry representatives, to tackle this challenge together. With a focus on transferrable skills and investment into learning and development, we can develop resilient, efficient, and empowered teams – inspiring the next generation of manufacturing colleagues.
Facilitator: Charlotte Horobin, Region Director – Midlands & East of England, Make UK
Speakers: – Christopher Pett, General Manager, Mastenbroek – Mick Lochran, Lincoln Institute of Technology (IoT)
