Have you ever considered fostering, but weren’t sure where to start? Do you want to know how you can support foster carers who continue to work?
Do you want to hear directly from those who already dedicate themselves to the betterment of vulnerable young people?
The Children’s Family Trust have been at the forefront of providing care in Lincoln since 1945, when Paul & Ruby Field turned Lynwode Manor into a safe space for children to thrive in. Demonstrating how security, reliability and love can transform traumatised young people into pillars of society in spite of their troubled upbringings.
Our mission is to continue in Paul’s legacy, providing Family for Life and extending support services beyond 18, when young people fall off the ‘care cliff’ into independence.
The current care crisis in the UK is well documented, the UK expected to hit 100,000 children in care in the next 2 years as the number of carers dwindles.
It’s important now more than ever that we communicate the many positives that becoming a foster carer can have on families and individuals alike amongst all the challenges. Whilst encouraging businesses to support those carers who continue to work alongside their fostering careers.
To find out more, we’re holding a Fostering information event at Rising Cafe to encourage those that can, to foster with our not for profit agency. Its also a fabulous opportunity for businesses to discuss how to become Fostering Friendly employers to also aid those who wish to pursue a career inside and out of the care system.
Could you benefit from a career change that invests in you? Providing community and events for the whole family?
If this sounds like you, drop by Rising Cafe on the 23rd August have a brew and a brownie on us and see if you could make a lifelong impact on a young person in care.
