Hales & Coultas helps local charity to provide life-enhancing support for people with cerebral palsy

Hales & Coultas Heating and Plumbing lent a helping hand to Lincolnshire House charity recently, installing heating systems and controls as part of their exciting hot tub extension project.

Lincolnshire House, based in Scunthorpe, supports people with Cerebral Palsy, providing residential, day and respite care to help them live their lives to the fullest.

Following some work previously completed by Hales & Coultas to install heating systems to this large care facility, which includes three flats to improve independent living, a communal area, and administration building, the team were asked back as part of the charity’s new extension plans.

The new extension would house a hot tub, which was important to the residents as hydrotherapy is known to soothe muscles and because of the buoyancy, those with cerebral palsy can experience a wider range of movement.

Hales & Coultas provided the following to support the project:

An Air Source Heat Pump was fitted to provide heating to the building; reducing running costs significantly and lowering carbon emissions

Low Surface Temperature (LST) radiators to avoid scalds with a fixed Thermostatic Radiator Valve (TRV) to sense the room’s air temperature and maintain warmth

Separate zone controls to allow for different temperatures across four areas

All heating, hot and cold-water pipework

Water supplied for the hot tub

Under sink water heaters to provide instant hot water within the changing rooms and toilet areas

Sanitary ware and equipment for the changing rooms and toilet.

The project, which was completed in around four months, is now open and residents are enjoying the new facilities.
