Forrester Boyd Raises £20,000 for the British Heart Foundation

Forrester Boyd is delighted to announce that they have successfully raised £20,000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF). This remarkable achievement is the culmination of 18 months’ worth of dedicated fundraising efforts by the staff and generous support from their clients and local community.

The firm’s journey towards a fundraising goal of £13,300 (a numerical representation of the name, Lee) was driven and surpassed by a heartfelt mission to honour late Partner, Lee Bradbury, who sadly passed away in August 2022 and it was Lee’s legacy and passion for helping others that inspired Forrester Boyd to choose the British Heart Foundation as their charity of the year.

Partner Philip George, expressed his gratitude for the collective effort and support shown throughout the year, ‘We are honoured to contribute to the vital and amazing work of the British Heart Foundation and to do so in memory of our dear colleague, Lee Bradbury. Everyone at Forrester Boyd has shown incredible dedication and enthusiasm in our fundraising efforts and it has been incredible to be a part of.’

Ethan Scott, a trainee at Forrester Boyd initially kicked-off the firm’s fundraising efforts when he participated in the Manchester Marathon and raised an incredible £1,000. Ethan’s achievement was the perfect start and only exemplified the spirit of commitment and community involvement that defined Forrester Boyd’s fundraising efforts.

Over the past 18 months, Forrester Boyd has hosted a variety of other innovative fundraising events with one of the highlights being the return of their charity golf day, which attracted over 120 business professionals and clients from various sectors. The event was not only a great opportunity for people to get together and remember Lee and his fondness for the sport but also a significant fundraiser, contributing substantially to their total. On the day Forrester Boyd experienced fantastic support from local sponsors and are incredibly grateful to all local businesses and firms who kindly donated prizes to their raffle.

The annual Christmas quiz, a tradition at Forrester Boyd, also contributed to the firm surpassing their fundraising target. This festive gathering brought together colleagues, clients, and friends for a fun evening of trivia presented by former Partner, Alan Nesbitt who donned his infamous Christmas suit, all in the spirit of supporting the British Heart Foundation.

Another memorable event was the highly-anticipated ‘Ultimate Cook Fundraiser’, a friendly culinary competition hosted at The Grimsby Institute’s Gallery Restaurant. Forrester Boyd’s team of chefs and waiters went head-to-head with the joint team of Handelsbanken and Bridge McFarland and were all lead by Healing Manor Head Chef, Steven Bennett as they cooked for over 30 guests who contributed in raising considerable funds on the night.

The success of Forrester Boyd’s fundraising campaign for the British Heart Foundation has not only provided much-needed funds for heart disease research and treatment but has also strengthened the bonds within our community.

BHF representative, Melanie Meik commended Forrester Boyd for their determination and the hard-work they put in to achieve such a substantial amount of money, ‘Forrester Boyd have fundraised tirelessly for the foundation and we are incredibly grateful for everything they have done. The £20,000 raised will go a long way in helping us continue our life-saving research and support for those affected by heart and circulatory disease which affects around 160,000 people in the Lincolnshire region.’

She continued, ‘Lee Bradbury’s legacy has inspired a wonderful community spirit, and we are honoured to be the beneficiaries of such dedication and generosity.’

Forrester Boyd would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in their events, donated, and supported them in various ways. The generosity has made a difference, and together, the firm have achieved something truly special.

Forrester Boyd Chairman, Mike Beckett added, ‘It’s heartwarming to see the community come together for such a worthy cause. No matter what event we organised, each and every one has been full to capacity which is testament to the incredible support we have continuously received throughout our efforts.

‘We are proud to be part of a community that cares and acts and we take great pride in supporting meaningful causes and going the extra mile to make a positive difference in the lives of others.’

Forrester Boyd are putting exciting plans in place to continue to honour Lee Bradbury’s legacy which will remain a driving force behind their community engagement and charitable initiatives.
