Fast Track to Funding for Women in Business

Are you an East-Midlands-based female entrepreneur ready to take your business to the next level? Do you need investment to fuel your growth? Lincolnshire Business Angels and the British Business Bank are here to help you achieve that goal.

In 2019, a government commissioned review on female entrepreneurship shone a light on the difficulties faced by female business owners in accessing finance. At every stage of the entrepreneurial journey, female headed businesses received less funding than those headed by men. In Venture Capital alone, less than 2% of funding currently goes to women.

Lincolnshire Business Angels and the British Business Bank have teamed up to change that.

This Fast Track to Funding for Women in Business course will:

· Help you identify and overcome some of the barriers facing female business owners.

· Provide you with an overview of the types of funding that can accelerate your business growth.

· Home in on the power and practicalities of Angel investment.

· Equip you with the tools and step-by-step support to confidently pitch for investment. .

· Assist you in putting together/refining a business plan in a pitch deck format.

· Introduce you to like-minded businesswomen.

· Inspire you with the real journeys of other female founders that we have supported.

· Help build your confidence in presenting your business.

· Create a safe and supportive space to practice pitching for investment.

After you register, you will receive a welcome call from the course host, Laura Mallaburn. Laura heads up Lincolnshire Business Angels and is an ex-entrepreneur with experience of growing and selling businesses. She has worked in Angel investment and business support for 5 years and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments. She is passionate about supporting female entrepreneurs and is well positioned to help get you ready for investment and connect you with local investors.

Entry requirements:

· Your business must have at least 1 female founder (sole traders included)

· Your business must be based or registered in the East Midlands

· This is a 3-part course, not 3 separate courses. You must be able to attend all sessions on 14th, 16th, and 18th October from 10:00 to 15:30

This course is brought to you by Lincolnshire Business Angels and supported by the British Business Bank
