Individuals can now apply for a payment of £500 under the Test and Trace Payment Support Scheme provided if they have been notified by contact tracers or the app to self-isolate and that they meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility
You can get the payment if all of the following apply:
– you’re self-isolating because you tested positive for coronavirus, or because you were told to by NHS Test and Trace or the NHS COVID-19 app
– you’re employed or self-employed and unable to work from home
– you’re on a low income. Your council will tell you when you apply if you’re counted as being on a low income.
You cannot get the payment if you’re self-isolating because you came to the UK from abroad.
To complete applications individuals will need an 8-digital NHS Test and Trace Account ID which will be provided for anyone testing positive for coronavirus or told by contract tracers to self-isolate.
An Account ID must be requested during the isolation period and claims can be made up until 14 days after a self-isolation period has ended.
