Chestnut Homes – Lincoln Knights set to ride into Rand Farm

Rand Farm Park has rolled out the welcome wagon for seven special guests as part of its summer holiday programme.

From the 6th to 12th August, seven of the Knights from Lincoln BIG and Visit Lincoln’s 2017 trail will be put on display for its Knights and Princesses themed week.

Rand Farm Park has set up its own mini trail for families to explore and organised a range of activities for children, including dragon egg archery, sword and shield design stations and the chance to dress up as a knight or princess.

Chestnut Homes, which bought three knights from the trail at a charity auction, has donated two of the sculptures and its Construction Baron, which was part of the 2015 Magna Carta trail, to the display.

The Knights and Princess Week is the third of six themed weeks which run throughout the school summer holidays at Rand Farm Park.

Kay Waring from Rand Farm Park said: “The Knights Trail was hugely successful for Lincoln, drawing in lots of tourists and engagement, so we’re delighted that we will be able to host the Knights next week.

“Visitors will be able to enter the farm through our new castle entrance and we will have knights and princesses walking around the grounds interacting with the families taking part in our mini trail.

“This is the first time we have put on six different themes across as many weeks and a lot of planning has gone in to each event, so I’d like to thank all the organisations which have helped us put this on."

Rand Farm Park, located off the A158, will be hosting themed weeks until Sunday 2nd September.

David Newton, Managing Director of Chestnut Homes, said: “Our Construction Baron and two knights have become popular additions to the Chestnut family and we enjoy showing them off to visitors.

“This week will give those who missed out on seeing the knights during the trail another chance to admire the hard work and skill which went in to them.

“As a Lincolnshire business, we’re always keen to help out community projects and I’m sure Rand Farm Park’s themed weeks will be a great success.”
