Langleys Solicitors takes on 900-mile challenge to raise money for brain injury charity

10 members of Langleys Solicitors Claimant Serious Injury and Clinical Negligence team have completed a running, walking and cycling challenge, which covered 900 miles, throughout the month of May for their chosen charity, Headway Lincolnshire.

The Langleys’ team covered the equivalent distance of Land’s End to John o’ Groats to raise over £900 for the local arm of the national brain injury support charity, with the team also working closely with those impacted by brain injuries.

The Team works closely with victims of medical negligence and serious injury, including individuals who have sustained life-long brain injuries from catastrophic events, and have subsequently witnessed first-hand the impact a brain injury can have not only on the victim, but on their families.

Headway Lincolnshire is a registered charity that aims to provide information and understanding for people with brain injuries, as well as their families and carers. The charity aspires to increase public awareness and knowledge of head injuries, campaign for better health and social care for those with head injuries, and participate in activities that will reduce the incidence of head injury.

Langleys has fundraised for Headway Lincolnshire for a number of years and continues to support them in their campaign.

Helen Murphy, Senior Associate at Langleys Solicitors and unpaid trustee and treasurer of Headway Lincolnshire, said: “Charities have struggled with funding during the pandemic, and smaller, locally-based charities such as Headway Lincolnshire have been particularly affected.

“Headway Lincolnshire is a charity that is extremely close to our hearts, having seen first-hand how brain injuries have affected individuals and their families, we are committed to raising awareness and supporting those who have been affected.

“Running, walking and cycling 900 miles was certainly a challenge for our team, but knowing we were doing this to support Headway Lincolnshire, a charity that does so much good for so many people, gives us immense satisfaction and a huge source of pride. Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling – and we are proud to be part of the campaign to help prevent more individuals and their families from suffering through better health and social care.”
