Within a six mile radius of Lincoln Residents or groups can use DialaRide (we have 13 adapted minibuses, our drivers are volunteers). This allows people to get to shops, events, friends and appointments. We can transport wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters and ambulant passengers. We can arrange shopper buses to get people to the supermarket or into town, and groups can ask us to arrange pick ups to take people to luncheon clubs and meetings.
Outside that area we may be able to offer a voluntary car service. This helps those that are isolated maintain their independence
In Lincoln we have a fleet of mobility equipment that residents or visitors can use to help them get around town. This is supporting the shops and businesses by making areas that some people may not be able to get to accessible.
During the lockdown we have (and will continue ) to support the Food bank, by delivering parcels two days a week, and collecting from the stores to take donated items to the warehouse and we have assisted the Lincolnshire Co-op by transporting family to the crematorium on a number of occasions. We also work with various groups within Lincoln where the aim is to provide support within the community.
The “Journey Makers” project is one where we can support the community and also receive some funding, to enable us to continue providing some support.
We are currently at minimum staffing in the office and other paid staff have been furloughed. some Volunteers are supporting their families, and for those paid staff that are furloughed, they can volunteer for other organisation, but not with the one that they work for.
Are you furloughed, or do you know someone who is furloughed that could help us for 6 weeks?
– Do you want to be part of the support network that gets the country moving again?
– Has your furlough been extended? ( staff that are furloughed from DialaRide cannot apply)

– Do you want to be the friendly face for people commuting after being in lockdown?
