Read MoreOn average, the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance crew travels around 100km to get to a patient, transport them to hospital and return to the airbase at RAF Waddington in Lincoln.
Could you help the charity’s doctors, paramedics and pilots reach their next patient by running, cycling or walking 100km throughout September?
You can set the challenge to your own level, completing multiples of 100km. The Ambucopter and crew respond to approximately three emergencies per day, so why not set yourself a target of completing 300km?
The challenge will run from 1st – 30th September, and participants can take on the total distance on their own or share the distance between a group of friends or family.
Fundraising Manager, Karen Carter said: “Our crew has continued to respond to emergencies throughout the pandemic, taking the equivalent of a mini A&E to a patient at the scene when time is critical. This life-saving work is only made possible because of our supporters.
“This challenge is one that we hope brings people a bit closer to understanding how our service works while raising the vital funds we need in order to come through the pandemic and deliver the best service we can for the communities of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.”
