Read MoreLincoln-based doormat specialist Make An Entrance has chosen YMCA Lincolnshire as its Charity of the Year for 2020 – and is pledging to donate all the money it raises from a series of fundraising events this year to the charity.
Make An Entrance is a family-run business which has been providing doormats to homes and businesses across the UK for over 30 years.
Historically, members of the team have all taken part in individual fundraising activities, but this will be the first time that the whole company has committed to supporting a Charity of the Year.
This year’s official partnership will support the YMCA with vital funding for the services and facilities that it delivers within Lincolnshire, including 24-hour emergency overnight accommodation, housing, day care, youth work and training.
Make An Entrance has previously worked with the YMCA; last November the company produced and donated five branded doormats to the charity’s Nomad Centre on St Rumbold’s Street in Lincoln before it was officially opened by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, Mr Toby Dennis.
Caroline Killeavy, Chief Executive Officer at YMCA Lincolnshire, said: “We are so grateful to Make An Entrance for choosing the YMCA as their charity partner for 2020.
“As a charity, we rely heavily on donations to run our services and facilities such as the Nomad Centre, which is the only permanent direct-access homeless provision in Lincolnshire.
“The money raised by Make An Entrance will go towards identifying reasons for homelessness, ensuring residents are provided with a safe space through their own en-suite room and specialist 24-hour support to support the health, wellbeing and individual needs of those accessing the centre.”
Samantha Burlton, Director at Make An Entrance, said: “I am so pleased to be working with the YMCA. Giving back to worthy causes and supporting our local community is an important part of our business; it boosts team morale and helps staff to see the rewards of their hard work throughout the year.
“We’ve been so impressed by the facilities that are provided at the new Nomad Centre that we’ve made it our aim to raise enough money to eventually be able to sponsor a room.
“We’ve already signed up to take part in various activities throughout the year to raise our target including YMCA’s Sleep Easy in March, the Lincoln 10K, the Great North Run and the 2020 Lincoln Santa Fun Run later in the year.”
