Businesses across Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland are invited to join Lincolnshire County Council’s net-zero event on Thursday 7th July 2022!
Helping advise business owners on how to make their premises more energy efficient, the ‘Getting your Business to Net Zero’ event has been developed in partnership with both Business Lincolnshire and Team Lincolnshire. The event will be hosted by The Bacchus Hotel in Sutton-on-Sea, which aims to be the first net-zero hotel in the UK, exporting more energy to the Grid than it imports.
Hotel owner, David Smith, wanted to ensure his business was ahead of the curve when it came to going green after becoming increasingly concerned by climate change and how it might affect his local community.
Over the last three years, David has invested in ground-source heat pumps, solar panels and battery storage that are expected to reduce his gas and electricity consumption by a whopping 65% and 60% respectively.
David said: “My investments in renewable energy have saved my business thousands in energy costs, while also significantly reducing my environmental impact. I want the hotel to become a centre of excellence for renewables by educating and engaging with local businesses about the digitisation of the electricity network.
“I hope business owners and managers across our region will join me in this latest event to find out how they too can become more sustainable and environmentally conscious, to help their business make the move towards becoming net zero by 2030.”
Businesses can join the in-person event next month to hear about David’s experience first-hand, with guided hotel tours also on offer to showcase the business’ renewable energy practises.
The day will include a networking lunch as well as talks and exhibition stands from local experts and suppliers, advising businesses on how to make their premises more energy efficient and reduce their energy costs.
The ‘Getting your Business to Net Zero’ event will be held between 10:00 – 14:00on Thursday 7th July at the Bacchus Hotel in Sutton-on-Sea.
