Andrew & Co Solicitors has started the New Year with a trio of new appointments at its offices in Lincoln and Newark.
Family law specialist Mikaela Rogerson has joined the team on London Road in Newark as Senior Solicitor while Legal Executive Paul Parkes has been appointed at the Lincoln office on Nettleham Road.
Gillian Richardson, who previously worked at the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, has also started working at the firm as Business Development & Digital Media Co-ordinator.
Having qualified as a solicitor in 1996, Mikaela has over 17 years’ experience in all aspects of family law including relationship planning, relationship breakdown, financial disputes and disputes regarding children for both married and unmarried couples.
Immediately prior to joining Andrew & Co Mikaela spent several years teaching at both public and private schools in Nottinghamshire.
“Although I loved teaching I was looking to return to the legal profession,” explained Mikaela.
“When the opportunity became available at Andrew & Co in Newark, it was a case of right place, right time as the firm has an excellent reputation in the area. Whilst being progressive and forward thinking it upholds traditional client-based values and doing our best to achieve what the client wants to achieve takes is of primary importance."
Legal Executive Paul Parkes joined the practice at the beginning of January. His role in the firm’s conveyancing department involves checking title deeds and dealing with enquiries from buyers.
Previously Paul worked for a bulk conveyancing provider and said he was keen to work for a high-street firm which offers a more personalised service.
“I enjoy doing the more technical aspects of buying and selling a property and wanted to relocate to an independent practice where I could focus more on this type of work,” he explained.
“Before I was a small cog in a big wheel but I’m now able to deal with transactions from start to finish rather than a small part of the process which is more rewarding.”
Gillian Richardson spent five years at the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce working as Project Manager for the Select Lincolnshire membership scheme prior to starting her new role at Andrew & Co.
As well as working closely with food producers and hospitality businesses to raise their profile and grow their customer base, Gillian also managed the organisation’s online presence including the website and social media.
“My previous roles at the Chamber, Visit Lincolnshire and Business Link were all client-focused and involved improving and growing businesses through strategic planning and marketing,” explained Gillian.
“Having spent five years at the Chamber I was looking for a new challenge and when the job came up at Andrew & Co it was the perfect opportunity. The firm is well situated to expand its client base both locally and further into the East Midlands and I look forward to using my skills and expertise to help it achieve that.”
Chairman and Head of Family Law at Andrew & Co Solicitors Julie Bailey said she’s delighted to welcome the trio to the already excellent team.
“Welcoming three new people is a great way to start the New Year and is a sign of good things to come for Andrew & Co as we continue to expand in Lincoln and Newark,” said Julie.
“We’re always looking for new opportunities in terms of new markets, clients and service offerings. We already have seven well established and experienced legal teams, which also work together to provide advice and assistance in five specialist sectors (agricultural property, family businesses, landlord and tenant, charities and public sector) as well as excellent management and support teams.
“Growing those teams is a key part of our strategy for 2019 and will enable us to fully embrace those opportunities and achieve our potential.
“Andrew & Co is well known in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire and we are keen to build on its reputation as one of the leading law firms in the region.”
