Ongo shortlisted in regional awards

The Local Authority Building Control awards (LABC) regional finalists have been announced and Ongo has made the shortlist.

Owlet Mews, a development of 19 homes in Blyton has been shortlisted in the ‘Best High Volume New Housing Development’. This was Ongo’s first development of homes for outright sale and consisted of two, three and four bedroom houses and bungalows.

Martin Phillips, Development Manager for Ongo, said: “We’re so pleased to have been shortlisted in the LABC awards. They’re widely recognized in the development industry, so to be a finalist alongside other high quality developments is fantastic.

“Owlet Mews was our first experience building homes for outright sale, so for this development to be recognised is great. We worked so hard to build a development at homes that were in keeping with the village of Blyton by building great quality, farmstead style homes with a modern edge.”

This project was completed in partnership with local building contractor TG Sowerby Developments Ltd, BSB Architecture and DBA Management Consultants.

Steve Sowerby, Managing Director, of TG Sowerby Developments Ltd, said: “We’re really proud of the Owlet Mews development and it was a great project to be involved with and work with Ongo on. To have been shortlisted is the icing on the cake, and being recognised by highly regarded industry awards is great.

“It really was a team effort by everyone involved to make sure these homes were built to the high quality and standards we’d aimed for. We really look forward to the virtual awards taking place in August.”

The LABC awards are the largest business to business awards in the building control sector, and they aim to recognise quality in many different types of building project.

Whilst Owlet Mews was the first sale development for this partnership, they are well underway with the second which is located in Corringham, just a few miles from Blyton. Find out more by visiting www.ongo.co.uk/corringham

A black tie event is usually held to announce the winners, however this year the awards will be a virtual event. It takes place on Thursday 27 August and all the regional winners will be announced
