Promotion Within Emission Reduction Specialists Company

UK-based emission reduction specialists Eminox has promoted Mark Runciman to Managing Director as the company enters its 40th year of business.

Mark has been Operations Director for two years and will take over from Andy Meakin, now Chairman of Eminox.  With more than 20 years in industry, Mark will lead the company in what is gearing up to be one of its busiest years.

Having started his career in manufacturing as a shop floor operator, Mark has worked his way through every level through to senior roles. He will now use his experience to drive the company forward following a number of contract wins with key industry leaders such as Liebherr, Volvo and Iveco.

Eminox is also seeing a huge increase in demand for its retrofit products due to London’s Ultra-Low Emission Zone and the possibility of further Clean Air Zones across the country.

Since 1978, the privately owned company has grown from three employees to almost 300. It prides itself on always staying ahead of the trend, having introduced both the CRT and SCRT years before such technologies were driven by legislation.

“We have lots of opportunities coming up in 2018 in both retrofit and with original equipment manufacturers,” Mark said. “The future is really bright for Eminox, but that comes with its challenges.

“We want to be right on the front foot and on the front line. Great leadership is about bringing people together and creating a team that’s bigger than the individuals.

“If you can do that and build the right ethos and the right environment for people to come to work and make a difference at every level, you’re onto a winner.”

Eminox is expected to be a key player in helping reduce roadside emissions and its SCRT is already been approved to aid in the £86.1 million project retrofitting 5,000 Transport for London buses.

Mark added: “There’s a lot of challenges ahead and not just for those entering London. Eminox is already developing technologies to help further reduce emissions so that businesses can effectively and cost-efficiently meet those challenges ahead of deadlines.

“We will also be focusing on expanding our global footprint and deploying lean manufacturing to produce intelligent flexibility for OE customers.”

Andy Meakin said: “Having worked with Mark for two years, he is dedicated to taking the company into its next phase of growth. Since joining the company two years ago, he has shown his passion and determination to make Eminox the best company it can be.”

Over the last 40 years, Eminox has outgrown two locations and is now based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. The company has continued to grow whilst driving diesel emission down to near zero and will continue to focus on creating cleaner technologies.
