Regional Accountancy firm celebrates more trainee exam successes

Forrester Boyd Chartered Accountants is delighted to celebrate more successes through its trainee accountant programme. Four of its trainees have passed their final exams becoming qualified accountants.

Harriet Cutts joined Forrester Boyd’s Beverley office in August 2020 and has passed her ACA exams. During her training, Harriet has been assisting small to medium sized businesses with their accountancy needs which has enabled her to get involved with a variety of client queries from software related questions through to more advanced accountancy-based problems. A former pupil of Hornsea Sixth Form, Harriet recently returned to a careers fair discussing career opportunities in accountancy with students. Harriet said, “I am looking forward to continuing to develop my personal brand and to becoming more involved with our clients. I also hope to lead the way for other student staff members and take a more active role in helping them to be successful with their training.”

Georgina Capes, based in the firm’s Grimsby office also celebrates passing her final ACA exam. The former Tollbar student is looking forward to developing and progressing her career in the audit team. Speaking of her experience Georgina said, “I work within the audit department at the Grimsby office working with clients throughout the entirety of their audits. This takes them from stocktakes, to testing, to sign off. My experience with Forrester Boyd has been varied as I have worked within different departments and sectors and thoroughly enjoyed my experience developing my knowledge in all areas. I am passionate about providing a highly quality service that benefits both Forrester Boyd and the client.”

David Tomblin is celebrating passing his ACCA qualification. David works in the firm’s Beverley office. He originally joined Graybrowne accountants in 2017, which was acquired by Forrester Boyd in 2020. David said, “I am looking forward to building a successful career at Forrester Boyd and establishing my own client base. I also look forward to inspiring and leading other students studying towards their ACCA qualification, helping them to achieve their goals.” David has gained experience in various areas of accountancy including self-assessment, audit and corporation tax. More recently, he has specialised in the preparation of company year-end accounts. David is passionate about building strong, trusted relationships with the clients he works with, as well as providing the best possible advice.

Chloe Lynaugh, who works in the firm’s Scunthorpe office has passed her ACCA exams. She joined the firm in 2015 and has worked with a whole range of different clients. Chloe’s main role is preparing year end accounts for clients of all sizes from engineering companies and medical centres through to small high street shops. Chloe said, “I like the variety of businesses that I work with and the different services that they each require. Every client is unique and that requires a different approach each time. I always ensure I deliver an efficient and good quality service to clients.”

Partner responsible for HR, Carrie Jensen said, “I am delighted to see four more students from our training programme qualifying as Accountants. The training programme is intense with a lot of study and exams to contend with on top of the usual day-to-day work. Harriet, Georgina, David and Chloe should all be extremely proud of their fantastic achievements. Forrester Boyd prides itself on delivering an exceptional training programme for students, and to provide them with all the skills and experience they need to become a proficient accountant.”

“These achievements are another example of the success in our strategy in recruiting and developing home grown talent. I myself, like most of the partners in the firm, started on the training programme so I can relate to the experience that all our students go through. Our aim is not only to recruit and train top quality accounting staff, but to also help them to grow and develop in their future careers.”

Forrester Boyd is one of the leading independent chartered accountancy practices in Lincolnshire and the Humber region, with 17 partners and over 150 staff based at offices at Grimsby, Louth, Scunthorpe, Skegness, Beverley and Hull.
