The International Sidecar Revival was one of the largest celebrations of sidecar racing in the last decade and the Massingberd-Mundy Lincoln Red Beef was the event’s main sponsor. The brand used the event as a chance to raise awareness of Lincoln Red cattle, an ancient British breed that’s listed as vulnerable by the Rare Breeds Society.
The South Ormsby Estate in the Lincolnshire Wolds is home to one third of the original population of Lincoln Reds, with more than 250 cows. The estate is using sustainable farming practices to increase the breed’s numbers and ensure its survival.
Estate spokesperson, Damien Howard-Pask said:
“We were really pleased to sponsor this international event serving our local produce reared just eight miles from the undisputed home of motorsport for bike fans. Lincoln Red beef is known for being a standout in quality, featuring rich marbling and a tasty juicy succulence.
“We gave out over 1100 samples of braised Lincoln Red beef sliders and roasted Lincoln Red topside in Yorkshire pudding to rave reviews, with three quarters of people scoring it nine or above out of ten for taste, and over half giving it the full top marks.”
Thousands of people attended the event which saw two of the best ever sidecar racers, Steve Webster and Rolf Biland take to the track. The event also hosted important stages of the Hyundai Construction Equipment British Sidecar Championship and the world-renowned Camathias Cup.
The event helped to raise awareness of the cows’ important role in local agriculture and the rural economy and it gave more than a thousand people the chance to sample the beef and learn about its unique qualities.
