Stirlin is proud to announce the successful completion and official handover of Sheridan House to YMCA Lincolnshire, marking a significant milestone which will change the lives of individuals within the local community.
This £2million project has transformed a 1930s property in the St. Giles area into 16 brand-new, self-contained apartments, providing modern, high-quality accommodation,
Appointed as the main contractor for the project, Stirlin worked closely with YMCA Lincolnshire to ensure that Sheridan House was delivered to the highest standards, meeting the needs of future residents. The project involved a full-scale transformation of the existing building, incorporating contemporary design, energy-efficient features, and thoughtfully designed living spaces that will offer residents both independence and security.
Howard Griffith, Head of Construction at Stirlin, commented:
“We are incredibly proud to have been a part of this project, knowing it will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities. Social values are embedded at the heart of what we do at Stirlin, and we are committed to delivering outstanding results. It is with the dedication of our team and the support from our trusted contractors that we were able to hand over the keys to this fantastic building, which will help support many individuals as they take the next step in their lives.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to the local residents for their cooperation and understanding throughout the entire construction process. They have been a pleasure to deal with, and their support has been invaluable in bringing this project to life.”
Becky Cobb, Project Accountant at YMCA Lincolnshire says about the project:
“YMCA Lincolnshire recognised the need for further supported accommodation within Lincoln, which led to the extensive renovation and extension of Sheridan House, creating 16 fantastic individual apartments. This development means that we now have our first, built-for-purpose apartments in the north of Lincoln, which will provide vital move-on accommodation for our residents.
We are pleased to have appointed local firm Stirlin as our main contractor on this challenging project; their services and support means that we will be able to continue to assist more individuals at risk of homelessness within Lincolnshire.”
Sheridan House is more than just a project – it represents a partnership built on shared values and a dedication to improving lives. By combining YMCA Lincolnshire’s expertise in community support with Stirlin’s construction and development capabilities, this project sets a new benchmark for quality and care in supported housing.
