Tax specialist welcomed to regional accountancy firm partnership

Forrester Boyd are delighted to announce Vicky Prior, tax specialist within the firm, has been promoted to partner.

Vicky joined Forrester Boyd in 2020, right in the midst of the Covid-19 lockdown as corporate tax senior manager. Through what must have been a difficult introduction to the firm, working from home and not being able to meet work colleagues physically, Vicky has established herself within the role and has supported the partners during what has been an extremely busy and disruptive two years.

Vicky now joins the partnership, heading up the tax specialism within the firm. She is supported by Chelsea Challis who has recently joined and expanded the team. Vicky has extensive experience in corporate tax compliance and planning with a particular interest in research and development tax credits, capital allowances, other business reliefs and business reconstructions. At a time when cash is absolutely king for any business, tax planning and allowances are more crucial now than ever before.

Speaking of her appointment Vicky said, “I am delighted to join the partnership at Forrester Boyd. Having worked so closely with the partners over the last two years, I feel extremely proud to have been offered this position.”

Over the last two years Vicky has worked with a wide spectrum of clients ranging from start-up companies through to established multi-million turnover groups and not for profit organisations. She has experience dealing with complex HMRC enquiries and settlements, tax residency issues and off payroll working. “Tax is very complicated and there is no one rule or approach as every business is different and tax legislation is evolving all of the time.” said Vicky

Mike Beckett, chairman of Forrester Boyd said, “We are delighted to appoint Vicky as a partner. She has proved herself to be extremely committed to delivering excellence in client service.

Her extensive knowledge in corporate tax and the wider tax arena has elevated the firm’s in-house expertise. We are confident in Vicky’s ability to grow and develop our in-house tax expertise”

During such challenging economic times, many businesses are currently looking at how to free up cash reserves in their businesses and how to be more efficient. In addition to that, they are also now faced with the tax implications of the grants, funding and deferment options that many took advantage of during the pandemic.

With R&D tax credits and capital allowances being missed by many firms who could be entitled, this really is the ideal time to speak to Vicky to see how she can help.
