Read MoreNews of a buoyant housing market, both for builders and buyers, on the back of the resounding election result, has been welcomed by Wilkin Chapman Partner and legal property expert Jonty Pearson.
Reacting to this week’s reports that shares in some housebuilders have risen by as much as 19 per cent since mid-December, Jonty was keen to stress how 2020 will see increasing activity in the region.
“When you look around the city of Lincoln and the smaller towns and villages within commuting distance, you see construction all around. This is a product of Lincoln’s continued growth, just as much as any national influence post-election,” commented Jonty.
“With house prices in the south pricing many families out of the property buying market, some have tended to look further north and Lincolnshire is an obvious choice with lower costs and the growth of the University and new tech companies, for example, providing good careers,” he added.
Meanwhile, national reports also suggest a bounce-back of property prices, with growth hitting 1.4 per cent in December. This increased activity has been predicted in the Yorkshire, Humber and Lincolnshire regions as experts have indicated these are prime areas where such growth will come.
“Such development and progress can only be good for our area. However, with every new plan comes detailed considerations surrounding location and the strain that increased development can put on present facilities and infrastructure, which is always a delicate balance,” commented Jonty.
